The New England Outdoor Center was named "Best Adventure Resort" in New England by Yankee Magazine. The Resort is open year-round and is located on Millinocket Lake, en-route to Baxter State Park. NEOC's lakeside lodges and cabins offer incomparable views of the Lake and Katahdin, Maine's highest mountain. The resort is pet-friendly and accommodation is available by reservation nightly or weekly.

The award winning River Driver's Restaurant with its sunset views of the Lake and Katahdin is located onsite and is open to the public. Guests enjoy a family friendly atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating available and free wi-fi.

Activities at NEOC include the following daily trips (depending on season and reservations) whitewater rafting, moose & wildlife tours, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, snowmobiling, x-c skiing and paddle-boarding.

In addition to lakeside lodges and cabins, NEOC offers a number of activities for the outdoor enthusiast. Our spring, summer and fall activities include daily whitewater rafting trips on the Penobscot River. Thousands of visitors a year take on Class I-V rapids with our experienced crews. Raft trips include photo options, delicious riverside BBQ lunch and more fun than a roller-coaster. For those that prefer to float down the river or have younger or much older parties in the group, NEOC offers a wide variety of trips including out family float trips which are suitable for 5yr old and up and also our popular soft adventure trips which can be for age 8 upwards.

Rafting is not the only thing we love to do in summer. NEOC has a number of Registered Maine Guides on staff, and frequently we bring people on daily and overnight guided canoe trips and hikes up Katahdin or around the local area.
